We appreciate your interest in what God is doing in and through our congregation.

The longer we at LOCF have grown together in our pursuit of Jesus Christ and His kingdom, the more His calling on our life as a congregation has crystalized. We would be glad to discuss that calling in detail with you if you wish.

While discerning our calling has taken a number of years, determining what our church motto would be happened somewhere in my first or second year (1994 or 1995) here as pastor. “Seeking to know and follow the Lord Jesus Christ” is not flashy. And honestly we have been tempted to change it a few times. But we have found ourselves coming back to this simple charge over and over as the bottom line of what we are about.

Jesus Christ made clear in His earthly ministry that He Himself was the head of the church (Matt. 16). The apostles have all confirmed this in their writings. And thus our greatest need and calling is to know and follow Him since He is still very involved in, and intent on leading and building His church.

Of course, not only does He desire and expect to be Head of our particular congregation. He desires and expects to be Head over His church in our region. And thus we want to do our part in seeing that take place as well.
